We've all had our fair share of eggy experiences. And while some may not praise the staple in their diets as much as I do, I think it's a safe assumption to agree on the enjoyable taste that comes with each bite of protein. Whether their home grown or store bought, there's something about egg-eating that really holds it's own in the food triangle. However, what some people (myself included) find themselves doing is falling into the trap of predictability. By this I mean those of you who have woken up to your sixth morning of egg white omelets, and say to yourself, I just can't do it, I just can't eat another egg white, and suddenly you find yourself at White Castle as 9 in the morning ordering thirty sliders. Or something along those lines. As easy as it is to turn to, this habit we find ourselves in is setting us back from exploring all the powers of the incredible, edible egg. And so presents.
THE CHALLENGE: In this eggs-sential blog I hope to explore with the cyber world all of the ways to introduce the egg. This includes, but is not limited to finding new ingredients to match with my friend, humpty dumpty. Mr. Egg will no longer be the one man show, but now a prominent main course to a complimentary side ingredient. This goal is intended to bring more attention to egg, and rightfully so.
As I've said, the egg is one of those staples that makes our life a lot easier thanks to it's filling and tastey reputation. I'm always looking for new ways to expand my palates horizon. Maybe I'll even find a way to pair the egg drop soup with a creamy croissant. Whatever new excursion I try, I hope it brings me closer to the egg I've grown up with.
In a part of this, I'll be combining my recipes with the your basic, but not boring, education on eggs. Whether it's visiting a chicken farm or asking the local grocer for the best kinds of eggs, my background research will be the sideline show to the egg diaries, and hopefully the boost of incentive that everyone needs to get out and start cooking!Add Comment
